Blogger women unite

We received our first visit from cyber people.

Actually, the women who visited me are quite three-dimensional. Good, solid folk from the Midwest. Patti, whose son goes to Gutenberg, drove out with her daughters for a Gutenberg Junior Tea and a series of other events. They spent Friday, Sunday, and Monday nights here.

Patti blogs at Hobbits8. She's a self-sufficient homeschool mom (of six kids), and she's working on becoming a genealogist. I offered our home to her and the girls for the nights they needed, with fear and trepidation. I hadn't hosted overnight company for a long while.

Everything went well, though. I sensed Patti reveling in the sorts of conversations I almost take for granted here in Gutenberg land. She and I talked a lot. Tim (who attended a very interesting Oktoberfuss this past weekend with me), joined in our dialog-fest last evening. I so enjoyed Patti's daughters. They and my son and I played rounds of Catch Phrase last night, too.

Today Cherie came over, and her girls were able to join us for a Yumm-bowl lunch. Good gabbing, a full house, and Indian summer weather warmed my brain, heart, feet, fingertips.

I'm just a little empty, now that they're gone.

Thank you thank you thank you for being a gracious host, for the yummy Yumm Lunch, and for being my friend. I miss Patti, too! Already!

I had such a great time and it was such a pleasure to meet you both. thanks so much, Deanna, for your wonderful hospitality. I'm sure I'll probably see you at church in the morning before we head back home--and Cherie, I did finally meet Joe. What a fine young man he seems to be. Our schedules didn't mesh very well and one person seem bent on not allowing us to have a conversations (that's a joke--ask Joe)

Yeah, Patti, Joe said he got to meet you, too, for a very short amount of time. I'll have to ask him to let me in on the joke. ; )

I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you, too! And your lovely daughters.

Went to your blogsite and saw your fantastic home and property. Loverly! Now I want to see photos of the interior, especially the great room. How I adore Great Rooms!

Hope you make it home safely. Come again!

Very exciting to see people kind of jump out of their blogs into yours. The pics are great to see you all together. Deanna, you are truly a person with an open heart.

Patti, I'm glad you had a good time and that you and Cherie have connected more. I need to find those pictures of your house now. (We didn't go to RF today, because we were at Tim's parents' church hearing his dad preach.)

Sandy, I'm glad you're available for a bit of blogging. Glad you enjoyed the pics.

Checking in from Boise, Idaho enroute homeward. Cherie, so much of the house is in an unfinished state and I'm such an undecorator, that the inside is pretty anticlimactic other than the open space and windows which was very important to me after living in a small dark house for so many years. We don't have carpets and trim isn't finished.

I do have lots of books :-) which would probably figure prominently in the decor to many eyes.

Deanna, I told Robby wrong about why you weren't there this morning. I told her you weren't there because you were at your parents' church not Tim's.

Ah, Patti, a home is never unfinished if it has family and BOOKS. ; ) Seriously, thanks for the news. Glad you made it so far as Boise. Open spaces and big windows - YES. That's how I like it, too. Drive safely!

Deanna, thanks for the forum.... ; )

Just got home this morning. I pulled an all-nighter with two stops for short cat naps. Now I feel like I can relax for the rest of the day since I wasn't going to be here at all today. I might even shower and get in my jammies and hope no one comes to the door.:-)

YAY!!! You earned a good jammie rest, Patti! The places you've been, the things you've seen in just two weeks. Amazing.

My girls say 'hi' to your girls!

No problem, ladies; chat on all you want. :o)

Patti, I'm very glad to hear you're home safe and sound. Rest all you can.

Hey, great idea to set up an opportunity to meet blogging friends. I have some cyberspace buddies I'd love to meet too! I think you're starting a trend here!

The blog's a good tool, Ruth, isn't it? And when we can extend friendships into real life, it's even better.
