An authors collage

I wanted to show you, because, hey, I'm in it. But the coolest thing is someone I know, who graduated a year ago from my daughter's college, is there, too.

Congratulations, Zak, on your forthcoming short story in Relief! I can't wait to read it.

I found your Relief article very interesting. I've had poetry accepted and published but I've never gotten 'brave' enough, shall we say, to submit anything else I've ever written. My Dear Hubby tells me I'm the best writer he's ever seen but I'd say he's more than slightly prejudiced, ha! And, in my 34 years with him, he hasn't done all that much reading outside of hunting sport magazines, ha! He tells me I need to get published so he can retire. Yeh, right, haha! The thing is, I don't have the remotest clue as to how to go about it. So I just write for my enjoyment - and for my grandbabies, which is the purpose behind my blog - and leave it at that. I once had supersonic dreams of being a published novelist but I'm finding I'm much more comfortable just writing as ME!

That fun! I read your post about the title of your book, but I'm so ignorant about anything like that I didn't offer any feedback. I've been reading many blogs the last couple of months. And I guess congratulations are in order for Victoria in graduating this year.

Major congrats to you both!

Miss Kris, as long as you're writing, that's the thing. Only go for the slight chance of money if you really feel like it (and maybe when those grandkids are older you will). But the act of writing, yeah, that's the important thing.

Writing for enjoyment is the only sure way to find self-satisfaction. Feeling comfortable with who you are and what you do is far more important. Like all other things, if you have those and still like to write, success is already yours.
